Instructor Training – Calhoun Community College

Marcraft partnered with Calhoun Community College to provide hands-on instructor training that supports the school’s growing cybersecurity program. The session introduced key elements of the Cybersecurity Essentials (CSE) curriculum, starting with the CS-1010 Physical Asset Protection panel. Instructors spent time working with industry-standard hardware and learning how physical security concepts connect to the NIST cybersecurity framework.

In addition, the training included installing the CSE Server into Calhoun’s existing server racks. This step gave instructors practical experience with system configuration and lab setup for the full 8-station Cybersecurity Essentials program. The CSE curriculum is based on the National Institute of Standards (NIST) framework and covers all major cybersecurity domains, from Physical Asset Protection through Penetration Testing. It serves as an important introduction for students who want to begin careers in the cybersecurity ecosystem.

Furthermore, the hands-on design of the program allows instructors to demonstrate theory in real time. Each station gives learners the opportunity to test, analyze and confirm cybersecurity concepts using professional-grade equipment. With these updates completed, Calhoun Community College is now better prepared to deliver a modern and engaging cybersecurity learning experience for students across North Alabama.
