Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) Offers Marcraft Renewable Energy Training Equipment

In June 2013, the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) became the first educational institution in the state of Sarawak to offer a subject dedicated to Renewable Energy, incorporating several advanced Marcraft training systems into its curriculum. This milestone marked a pioneering step in advancing technical education aligned with global sustainability trends.

By integrating hands-on Marcraft equipment into the program, PPKS provides students with real-world training in renewable energy systems. These industry-grade learning tools help students explore how various sources of clean energy are generated, managed, and applied in practical settings—equipping them with skills relevant to today’s green technology workforce.

Key learning areas include:

  • Solar and photovoltaic energy systems

  • Wind turbine principles and energy capture

  • Energy conversion and power storage

  • Environmental and economic impacts of renewable technologies

  • Practical applications of hybrid energy systems in Southeast Asia

This initiative strengthens PPKS’s commitment to workforce development by aligning technical training with the growing demand for clean energy professionals. Students benefit from practical experience that prepares them for careers in renewable energy, environmental management, and sustainable infrastructure.
