Instructor Training – Global Impact Academy

Marcraft collaborated with Global Impact Academy to provide instructor training that supports the school’s green technology pathway. The session introduced the GT-2000 Wind Turbine Installer Certification Program and offered an overview of how the Green Technology curriculum can be integrated into classroom and lab environments. Instructors had the opportunity to review the training materials, explore the equipment and discuss how hands-on activities can strengthen student understanding of renewable energy concepts.

The Wind Turbine Installer Program is designed to prepare students for work in the growing field of wind energy. The curriculum covers the theory of wind power, basic electrical generation principles and the factors that influence performance in both on-grid and off-grid settings. It also introduces topics such as site evaluation, system design, equipment selection, installation practices and safety considerations. These subjects help students build a strong foundation in wind turbine technology.

In addition, the program includes hands-on labs that use real equipment. Examples include small-scale wind turbines, diversion load controllers, battery storage systems, inverters, meters, switches, fuses and multimeters. This equipment allows learners to practice testing, measuring and troubleshooting, which helps reinforce concepts introduced during classroom instruction.

Developing Skills for the Growing Wind Energy Workforce

The GT-2000 curriculum also covers important skills such as understanding blueprints, working with building codes and identifying compliance requirements. Students are introduced to residential-scale system design and installation methods, along with environmental and financial considerations that influence wind energy projects. Through this instructor-focused session, Global Impact Academy gained familiarity with the program and the tools that support student learning. These insights will help instructors create a strong training environment for students pursuing careers in renewable energy.
